Environmental Timber Frames
Environmental timber frames concerns are becoming an increasing priority for homeowners, developers and the government alike.
At E3 Frames Ltd., we take our environmental timber frames very seriously. At present, 90% of the materials we use to make environmentally friendly timber frames are fully sustainable, and we are constantly driving to increase that percentage. All the materials we use are traceable, and other environmental solutions such as grey water systems can be included to further reduce the environmental timber frames footprint.
Environmentally friendly timber frames have many benefits, particularly when using timber from sustainably managed forests, as E3 Frames Ltd. does. Timber used in our
timber frame buildings is genuinely renewable, long-lasting, strong and more fire resistant than the majority of other building materials, and it has consistently been shown to require less remedial work over time. The
energy efficient building insulates well against sound and heat loss and an environmental timber frame house can be finished quickly, which is good news for
commercial timber frames and
residential timber frames from self-builders and developers alike. Using the innovative ‘Posi-Joist’ system enables us to increase the strength of the structure whilst at the same time using less timber, thus conserving natural resources. For flooring and cladding we use Smart Ply, a fully sustainable product made without formaldehyde glue. Every material used to create our environmental timber frames has been carefully chosen to achieve our goal of minimum environmental impact.
